As water came down upon them, they shot awake in an instant. Their breaths raised throughout the room in such heavy resonance. Auden watched them struggle, trying to break free from the rope’s grip. He approached them, their eyes glazed over him as he came closer, leaning very much forward as his posture stood tall and mighty. The fear in their eyes cradled, trying to find comfort amidst all the darkness that spread widely around.

“Hi,” he hissed to the two men, knowing just that luscious feeling of payback.

“Fuck you!” the man fired back.

Auden disarmed himself from that response, turning his back and flicking his wrist in the form of a command. With that being initiated, Zane, still wearing his mask, came from the backside of where the men happened to be tied, and faced the man who insulted the stray. He held what looked to be a six-inch nail. His only response to the action beforehand was to grind the point into the back of the man’s hand as he began to howl in crying pain with it sinking deeper. Zane finished the job by hammering down the rest of it inside, only to be followed by more screams at the drop of blood. Once finished, he threw the hammer aside, striding with aggression over to the next victim, slapping the underside of his chin to get his attention.

“Better listen up,” his voice, although low, felt in absolute control. “And maybe you’ll leave here with most of your body parts.”

All Auden did was watch as the chaos took place in front of him, watching Wells fade from darkness and appearing within the lantern’s light gave such an ominous feel down his spine, especially with the fact that he was wearing a mask just as menacing as Zane’s. His walk was slow as he began to approach the men tied in the chair before him, looking down upon them with such a menacing nature.

“If you’re witty enough,” his voice raised amongst the silence, “you might have figured out why you’re here, tied to chairs, with a nail in one of your hands.”

“Let us out of here, you fiends!”

“But I can assure you that we didn’t necessarily come just for you, but for what information you hold on the thing you worship. We need info, whatever you know or have, and maybe we’ll spare you.”

“You’ll get nothing!”

Wells looked back to where Zane resided as he emerged once more, walking with much ferocity as he came close to the man who spoke out of turn, taking a full-on contact of the blow as it hit the man square in the face. Blood sprayed from his teeth as it began to paint the floor below them.

“Do either one of you wish to interrupt me once more? We’ve plenty of steel to use against you…have the two of you suffering for many hours before one bloody death—one bloody mess to clean up.”

“First question,” Zane broke through the roaring conversation amongst all the men. “We aren’t stupid, knowing that there’s more of you out there.
